For just about as long as I can remember, since I’ve been using the internet, there has been Amazon.com. I really can’t remember a time without it, that’s how big it is. Of course when I first started using it, I mainly used it to only purchase books, but now, a person can seriously buy just about anything on Amazon. While there’s little to no hassle while using Amazon, you do have to wait for your products to be delivered to your door – of course if you have Prime, it’s a much shorter wait, but it’s a wait all the same. Well, for folks living in New York City, their wait time is about to get a whole lot shorter, because Amazon is launching their first physical store in downtown Manhattan which will hopefully be open in time for this year’s holiday season.
It would make sense for Amazon to use the store to display all of their Kindle products, and we can only imagine that’ll be a big draw, but they’re also planning on making this NYC store a smaller version of their online store. They’ll have a warehouse, and those in the Manhattan area will be able to physically go to the Amazon store to pick up their orders instead of waiting on various shipping times.
What do you think? Would you shop there? I don’t know about you, but I think this is a great idea, and I think many would prefer going to the Amazon store over going to a store such as Walmart. It remains to be seen how many stores Amazon will build throughout the world.
